The Good Samaritan
Apologies i haven't been posting lately, i have been pre occupied with lots of paperwork. However this time last week, we eventually filmed our production "The Good Samaritan" with special thanks to Charles keen for sorting us out with some willing actors and Mike O hare for kindly agreeing to be an extra for us. Despite the weather not being on our side, everything went relatively smoothly! My role as producer is officially over, the paper work all done and dusted, and now the production is into the trusty hands of Micheal Shaw for editing :) will post it online when its finished :D

acting auditions...
I went into uni yesterday morning (that's right, on a Saturday if that's not dedication i don't know what is) to help out with the open acting auditions for people to be put on our actors database. I ended up being the one taking everyone's details and putting them on the computer ready to put on the database. I am still however looking for a male actor to play the lead in our short film "The Good Samaritan" as it was only girls that turned up to audition. Will have to do another scout through acting websites, if anyone has any more websites i could use then please tell me :)

Scriptwriting...
Title: A Travelling Mind (suggests that although you can physically be somewhere, the mind can always be elsewhere)
Essentially the story centers around an elderly widowed man named George Brown who suffers from Alzheimer's disease and how he suddenly finds himself struggling with an unmanageable life, where he is no longer in full control of his actions or emotions. His only son Sam, whom he has always been close to, watches his dad become a shell of his former self and a role reversal happens between the two. Whereby the person who taught Sam how to walk and speak, in time will not know one from the other, now his dad becomes the child and he the father.

Scriptwritng
who knew scriptwritng could be so hard?? I've been working on character development for my scriptwrting module ready for "hot seating" next week, so i looked to the internet for guidance and found numerous sites that offered help by asking a series of questions about the characters back story which i found particularly useful as it then enabled me to write from their point of view and how they would view the world. Will post my full character profile when i am finished!

Creative film and moving image production...
For the past three days (and nights), myself and our crew have been frantically writing, filming and editing a short film for a brief given to us by our tutor. The film had be centered around "a message" of some sort, whether that be a moral one or simply just a note. After a couples of hours debating, we finally settled on the idea of "discrimination" and the judgement's and presumptions people make about others simply based on their appearance. The outcome was one we were all quite proud of in the end, got some good lighting and camera angles going on 8-) Will try and post it online at a later date!
